Í Rauðum raunveruleika kvöldsins höldum við áfram með Tjörva Schiöth að fjalla um sögu NATO. Í síðasta þætti var fjallað um Kalda stríðið (1945 – 1990), en í þessum þætti verður litið á tímabilið eftir lok Kalda stríðsins 1990 fram til dagsins í dag. Við reynum að einblína á þá hluta sögunnar sem hafa ekki fengið mikla athygli í meginstraumsfjölmiðlum eða almennum söguskýringum, en sú mynd sem hefur verið dregin upp fyrir okkur er mjög hvítþvegin og reynt hefur verið að sópa mörgum óþægilegum staðreyndum undir teppið. Í þessum þætti verður farið yfir breytt hlutverk NATO eftir lok Kalda stríðsins, ótal hernaðaríhlutanir Bandaríkjanna og NATO síðan 1990, sviðsett valdarán í öðrum ríkjum víða um heim, heimsvaldastefnu Bandaríkjanna, sprengjuherferðina gegn Serbíu 1999, “regime change” stríð gegn Írak 2003 og Líbýu 2011, notkun hættulegra vopna eins og klasasprengna og skerts úraníum, “stríðið gegn hryðjuverkum”, drónahernaðurinn um allan heim, pyndingar-prógrammið í “CIA black sites”, Guantanamo Bay og Abu Ghraib og fleira.
